The Fish Sound Project Blog

The ocean is full of intriguing sounds! Whales, seals, wind, rain, boats are all important contributors to the ocean soundscape. But did you know that many fishes also make sounds? A team of scientists is on a journey to discover the sounds produced by the coastal fishes off British Columbia, Canada.

This blog was originally hosted by the National Geographic Open Explorer platform. However, several months ago, National Geographic decided close the site. They indicated that they would re-open it in January 2020 under a new domain, but it doesn't seem to be happening. This is too bad because it was a really great platform.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed writing these blog posts on the Fish Sound Project and decided to continue the blog under my website. Many things have happened since the last update, so I will progressively post about what we have been up to since Sep 2019.  There will be cool videos and exciting results ;-)

In the meantime, If you want to receive email alerts when updates are posted, make sure to enter your email in the text box at the top right and hit "subscribe". Also don't hesitate to post comments.

More soon!
