Welcome to my website
I am an acoustician working in the passive acoustics group of NOAA's Northeast Fisheries Science Center in Woods Hole, MA, U.S.A. My expertise is mostly in the development of tools to efficiently analyze passive acoustic data but have also worked on designing autonomous underwater cameras and analyzing video data. I have worked for many years in the arctic to monitor migration routes of whales, seals and walruses using passive acoustics and am now involved in various projects around the world to study fish and marine mammals. My PhD thesis focused on developing hardware and software solutions to identify fish sounds in the wild using compact hydrophone arrays and video cameras (see The Fish Sound Project Blog). |
